Free Band and Music Promotion Tips

Choosing how your band’s website is designed could have a profound impact on you being able to get new fans to enjoy your website and your MUSIC.

Here are a few new tips on your band website design choice.

  • DO NOT have music start playing as soon as the user opens your page. (Fans Hate This)
  • Not too flashy – don’t have it making all sorts of noise.  This will distract the user.

Having a band forum on your band’s web site is a good way to let users interact with the band members.  Users of your band’s website will be able to let you know what they really like (or dislike about your site).  This helps your band website designer make the right choices for your type of fans.  You will have a direct line of communication with your band’s fan base.

A band picture gallery can let your fans see you in action.  Playing the latest gig or just playing guitar on the roof :) .  Also fans can add there pics and videos to the gallery to let you see how it looks from the other side.  This will promote your band in a new light.  Video should be included in your gallery.  This lets fans know how you look in action during a show.

Having a direct chat on your band website design can let users and the band communicate immediately.  This can be a scheduled chat session or just a surprise visit.  This gets your fans to your site at a designated time so that the band could give there fans communication on the bands latest news or information.

Members ONLY section – This is a great way to get those email addresses.  They are one of the most important peaces of information you can get from your fans.  This is also a great way to offer special show information and discounted tickets.  Did you know that you can offer a members only online show to fans?  It can be done with little to no expense.  I’ll let you know about that in another post soon…

Don’t forget to have your merch on your website too.  I know there are a lot of services out there to sell your music online and most are great sites.  But do have a way for fans to buy your music online off of your site.  You have to be able to sell your music on your band’s website.
